There are several treatments for fingernail fungus, including some very effective medicines. However, some types of fingernail fungus medicine can cause you to have serious liver problems, so many people elect to either suffer with the embarrassing and problematic symptoms or try and treat the fungus with a variety of home remedies. Unfortunately, many of the home remedies do not work. However, there is one surefire way to get rid of fingernail fungus and keep it away.
Mix the apple cider vinegar and the hydrogen peroxide in the bottle. You can pour both into the bottle and then shake it up. Make sure that the lid is on tightly before you mix the liquids.
Wash your hands thoroughly. Use the fingernail brush to scrub under your fingernails and clean them thoroughly. Debris under the fingernails can help the fungal infection persist, thereby exacerbating the problem.
Clean under your fingernails with the orange stick. This is a delicate process, because you need to remove as much fungal debris as possible (it will look crumbly and come away from under the nail like powder) but you must not push hard under the nail and break into the skin, causing a wound.
Use the eyedropper to squirt a few drops of the vinegar/peroxide solution under your nail. It may sting, so be prepared.
Continue treating your fingernail fungus with this regimen until it has been completely absent from your fingernails for a full month. You may not need to do a great deal of scraping every night, but you do need to ensure that your fingernails stay clean and that you keep all fungal debris out of the area. You will be able to watch the infected portion of your nail grow out as you eliminate the fungus. Be sure to sterilize all of your equipment with bleach each time you finish using it to prevent yourself from reinfecting your fingernails with the fungus you removed the day before.
Some people actually soak their fingertips for 30 seconds to a minute in a mixture of 4 cups of water and 1 cup of bleach to help kill the fungus. However, this can hurt your fingers, so do not do it every night, and remove your fingers immediately if they start to burn.
